Children's Homes

About the Homes

Our homes are family sized properties offering a welcoming, nurturing homely environment. We are located in urban areas within the community and provide one to one staffing levels for a maximum of two children.

Our young people have their own rooms which are carefully individualised, decorated and maintained to provide a therapeutic environment (all are single rooms fitted with locks to ensure privacy).

The emphasis on small, nurturing homes with high staffing levels makes a valuable contribution to the attachment programmes and therapeutic interventions which are central to our work with young people.

We have achieved consistent rating of good or outstanding in all aspects of Ofsted inspections, which reflects our commitment to providing our young people with the best possible service in all aspects of care.

Who we accommodate

We can accommodate people between the ages of 6yrs and 16yrs on admission. The maximum age gap between young people accommodated is four years. Young people of either sex are accommodated. The maximum number accommodated in any home is two.

All young people accommodated, whenever possible will have been met by one of our management team prior to their admission, both to ascertain their suitability for placement and to ensure that the "mix" of young people accommodated is appropriate.

During the first three months of a young person's residence a comprehensive therapeutic assessment is undertaken. The assessment will be used to formulate a detailed programme appropriate for the young person

The only emergency placements which will be considered relate to young people who have previously been in residence with Future In Mind or have been receiving therapy externally from us. No other emergency placements will be considered although decisions regarding placement can be made within 24 hours of referral.
